Age and ID at casinos
How old you must be to enter a casino in each province, who says so, and what the casinos we list say about ID at the door. Tap to read the words behind each figure.
Check a date of birth against a casino: Can I get in?
Minimum age by province
The minimum for casinos in each province, and who states it.
| Province or territory | Minimum age | Who says so |
|---|---|---|
| Ontario | 19+ | the provincial regulator (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) |
| Quebec | 18+ | the provincial casino operator (Loto-Québec) |
| British Columbia | 19+ | the provincial government (Government of British Columbia) |
| Alberta | 18+ | a provincial health information site (MyHealth.Alberta.ca) |
| Manitoba | 18+ | the provincial regulator (Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba) |
| Saskatchewan | 19+ | a casino’s own website (Casino Regina) |
| Nova Scotia | 19+ | a provincial regulation (Nova Scotia Casino Regulations) |
| New Brunswick | 19+ | a casino’s own website (Grey Rock Casino) |
| Prince Edward Island | 19+ | the provincial government (Government of Prince Edward Island) |
| Newfoundland and Labrador | — | No casinos in our register; no quoted minimum |
| Yukon | 19+ | a casino’s own website (Diamond Tooth Gerties) |
| Northwest Territories | — | No casinos in our register; no quoted minimum |
| Nunavut | — | No casinos in our register; no quoted minimum |
For Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Yukon the figure comes from a casino’s own website, not from a regulator or the provincial government.
A casino may set a higher age than its province. Where a casino states its own age, its profile shows it.
ID at the door
Rules the casinos state for getting in, in short; tap one to read the casino’s own words. Rules about joining a rewards club, collecting a prize or checking into a hotel are left out.
